Have you explored what area of supply chain you would want to focus?
Distribution and transportation are going to see significant changes coming out of a shift to telemedicine .
Distributors aren’t going away but more manufacturers will look to go direct to customer and that will further change the scale and supply chain for how products reach the customer.
In addition to what others have suggested above, I would think about issues within life sciences that have impact the supply chain.
- NPI process integration with the supply chain
- sales are often through tenders, which creates lumpy demand
- product regulatory changes complicate the supply chain when prior version and new version both need to be produced as regulatory filings take time to be approved in each country.
- manufacturing quality standards and procedures can be higher than other industries when there is FDA oversight
- impact of recalls and quality findings on distribution
