How long due you need to be at an employer to be eligible for the family leave plan that is available for all Massachusetts employees as part of the Paid Family Medical Leave program ? I believe the PFML is applicable 2021 onwards

The Current scenario of high attrition rates and job shift by taking multiple offers has been caused by a resource crunch in the market. However I have a feeling that this particular scenario of shifting jobs by way of multiple offers and getting high salary is creating a bubble in the market which will burst causing a ripple effect of lay offs due to cost saving efforts by organisations in the near future. In a scenario like this how can one change the job by avoiding the bubble?

Currently making 125k salary with 10k bonus at essentially an assistant controller role. Client wants to hire me and is asking for my compensation range. What is the market rate for an assistant controller in a large private company? They are really really wanting to hire me and willing to pay a little more. First year here. Do associates get fired for not meeting the billable requirements?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

I’m a second year associate and last night I was online until 2:30 AM waiting for one specialists comment to a purchase agreement. I had added all comments during the day from everyone else, and the midlevel and senior were online as well, but it seemed very strange to ask me to stay up just to add three sentences to a purchase agreement. Is this normal?

Are there any senior fund formation attorneys here in biglaw willing to help me with interview prep for a mid level lateral position, or at least help me boost my confidence? Does anyone enter a “f*ck up” spiral and how do you get out? Like when you miss a nit or even larger typo in a brief or miss an issue in a sub/cite and someone calls you out in it, and then you doubt every proof you do, get anxious about f*cking up, and inevitably f*ck up again. Trying to decide if I’m burnt out after three crazy months or if I just suck at this job and should hang it up if I can’t get it back together soon. I don’t trust myself anymore.
