Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
Does ey gds lay off?

I've been working in HR operations for the past 3 years. Total work experience being 3.10 years. My current CTC is 6 LPA. I'm looking to change companies and want to get into a decent MNC. Will I be able to get a 70-80% hike taking into consideration my experience matches the profile?
Any advice on which profiles and companies to apply for? And any advice on how to grab a job at Amazon for the same would be perfect.

Funniest thing AS1 said was high salaries for managers haha
They do it to keep their costs down. They hire younger cheaper people who can do the job perhaps not quite as well, but we'll enough. They keep complaining about turnover, but probably the biggest secret of PA is that they actually WANT the turnover because that allows the managers to keep their high salaries while they can just keep bringing in cheaper labor. So their total staff salary costs stay the same while they collect their bonuses.
Anyone at our office that was let go was a poor performer. And most of us knew all season that as soon as busy season was wrapped they'd be cut.
Hey do it every year in May after they've sucked your soul. But don't worry, all the firms do 😂
How dare you give away trade secrets @Audit Senior 1
We did not do huge layoffs there was a market or two that let some go like every other firm!!! Glad your joining
What office were there layoffs?
There were no major layoffs.
As in today?
How can i avoid that?
Be good. Or at least average. Hope that your office isn't helplessly over staffed.
Honestly, fail to see how it's cheaper labor. You have to spend resources buying CPA materials, CPA bonus, recruiting, training....if you hire new people it's not like you can suddenly give them much less. The wages are pretty static besides inflation.
Put it this way, a person who has been a senior for 4 years will cost more then a 1st or 2nd year senior who can do a similar level of work. Also, staff work is the same so if there is a low performing staff of course they gunna get rid of them as a new staff can do the same job had there is a chance that they are high performers. Not saying I know the tactics but this is what makes sense to me
