I've been to my office once in the past month. Smart firms don't micromanage their attorneys.
What area of law? My managing partner micromanages me like crazy but I’m also news. I’m thinking of asking in around 2 years (when I have kids) if I could work hybrid. Unfortunately my SO works crazy hours at a hospital.
Only my practice group in the firm is on hybrid (fortunately) with no expectations or minimum number of days to come in.
The head of my team only comes in once a week to buy a round of beer at 5pm - he literally goes office to office saying its "beer o'clock"
As long as we get our work done he doesn't mind us working out of other offices as well so a bunch of us have take turns working out of London, Singapore, Sydney in the past year.
Really thankful for my boss to be honest.

I just know that I need to find a firm that would allow me to work remote/hybrid but not a whole lot include in the postings. And many say that the job is “on-site”
If they’re smart they will promote their hybrid/ remote benefits in the interview process. I don’t think my firm mentions it in the job posting but multiple partners during the hiring process emphasized to me that they never intend to make associates RTO full time. That was a big selling point for me
I’m full remote at Goodwin, and I love it.
My firm hired me My firm hired me a few monthly with a fully remote position. It better be, because I’m not moving states away if they change their mind😅
patent law, and since I’m in Texas, state taxes are a non-issue. Not sure how they handle the worker’s comp insurance…
Yup! Hybrid here. In office most days, fridays unofficial WFH day. Also if we need to be home for other reasons, not really an issue.
SA1 - before the pandemic, NO ONE was allowed to work remote or hybrid at all. The only time was true emergency - I did it when I broke a limb and couldn’t physically go to the office. But they are stuck on that old mentality but have since done a 180. Much more relaxed now, and varies by practice group/supervising attorney
I go in once or twice a month when I want. There’s been 6-8 week stretches where I don’t go in at all and nobody cares. I tend to go in for social events
