I have received offer from Wipro which is little above than the offer that I am holding but fixed pay is less. Thinking of rejecting Wipro offer. Is it better to reject or accept and then not join. Nope, just a rumor. More like a few+ people were let go due to being poor performers.
^ so then there were layoffs.
I like to view it more as strategic/delayed firings. These people were going to be let go regardless and isn't necessarily about required downsizing.
Right - why you get fired matters which is why it bugs me when people refer to performance related terminations as a layoff. A layoff is an undeserved termination due to having insufficient work for people to do - if we are actually looking at true layoffs you should be circling the wagons and do what you need to do to make sure you still have an income next week.
If people got fired for performance, it doesnt matter when it happens - the people who need to be worried are the ones with performance issues. Of course the firm waits until after busy season to get rid of people with performance issues, usually even though they suck they are better than not having a body in that seat during busy season.
No. You can get fired for poor performance any time of year. Especially, if you are on a PIP you could go at any time.
Oh, how interesting that people only let go in big 4 after busy season ... almost like a planned systemwide task ...
When were people let go? Round tables haven't happened yet..
