Being taught and given instructions in person versus over Zoom - what a world of difference especially to junior associates.

Why’s the managing partner using an associate tag?

likefunnysmarthelpful

Ya I wonder which side of the zoom OP is on. In-person is more interesting for the instructor—much easier to feel the energy in the room and adjust accordingly. But learners often give positive feedback even when the Zoom feels flat.

This is an elaborate RTO disinformation op

I find zoom lets me take better notes and avoids the awkwardness of leaning over to see something on someone else’s screen or a piece of paper

Which do you feel is more effective? I've found screen sharing to be a huge benefit that is hard to match in person.

One of the reasons firms have struggled with training associates remotely isn’t because it can’t be done as effectively as in-person. It’s that firms don’t know how and don’t have the incentive to learn. There are plenty of big, successful companies that have trained portions of their work force remotely for decades without issue.

I think physical proximity and sharing the space facilitates learning

Nice try, partner. We meet again. Ligma.

Talked about this recently. Instead of muting a call and commenting to the associate in the same room, you have to chat in a side chat and try to make no one see on the video call that you do. - Different way of instructing 🤷‍♀️

IEP, 504, and those without internet will return in-person next week while rest of students remain remote. Regular Ed teachers may have students (mild Learning Disabled kiddos) in their room while teaching. They are saying it’s a liability issue if they have one student in the room with them, even though teaching other via Zoom. Thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this?

Almost done with second weeks in industry. I absolutely LOVE IT! Ive been making a point to reach out to people from different teams via Slack and arrange a quick meet and greet zoom call. Been introducing myself mostly to the heads of each department, head of marketing, head of sales, head of product development. to get a better idea of what everyone does, and asked sales/product for walkthroughs of the products so that I know exactly what we offer as a company

We go through our first financial education session that we talk about basic to higher level of financial information; from saving, investing, risks and returns, registered accounts, etc. There is no cost and no obligation. If you are interested to attend in-person or via Zoom, let me know.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

Is there anyone that works at Slack that would be willing to give me a referral for their Corporate Counsel (Commercial) position?! I really want this job so please send me a message if so and we can work something out! TIA!
