If MBB could match 6-12% to 401K, why do big 4 match just 1.5% (3% after 4 years in some cases)?

Btw pension plan is a joke, doesn’t compensate 6% match

Hello everyone I have 29 years as a dental professional in Texas. I started as a dental assistant back in 1993. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Staffed on a team right now that is an SM, M, and me. I find that the SM and M spend 90% of their time doing other things and I am left to deliver our project work. On the one hand, I am okay with this because I am capable of doing it. On the other hand, I’m tired of doing all the work myself and having no one to even bounce ideas off of. I don’t mind driving the work, but I don’t want to do ALL of it. Would be great to have more input from my leads, junior staff to help out, or both.
