Biking to work would be faster and healthier, but the streets feel like a death trap. Any tips from fellow bike commuters on staying safe?

You can request a free bike map from the city which shows you what streets have what level of bike infrastructure (e.g., physically divided lanes, painted lines or sharrows) to plot a route you feel comfortable with. Seattle has done a better job building a network out than most other US cities, but it’s still a work in progress. With daytime running lights and a bright jacket I go on most streets, but there is definitely a greater risk than walking or driving

Stick with other cyclists. If you roll along another cyclist going your way and approximately your speed stick with them. If you stop together at a red light, strike up a conversation and ask about their route and their gear. Lots of camaraderie and info out there to be shared with your fellow commuters

SM on my project stepped away on paternity leave. SM was the one who led partner discussions and most of the client meetings. We're a week from a client deadline.

As a manager, I'm stepping but incredibly stress with the amount of moving parts. I don't have a strong rapport with the partner (Neither did the SM) to be open and transparent on how stressful I'm feeling without downgrading myself.

I'm sick to the stomach and very anxious, stressed at the suddenness of the thrust.

Help!

First day of 30mg vyvanse today. Had a rush of energy and hyperfocus (too much so) about 2-4 hours in, but had a complete crash 5hrs after taking the pill (just a wave of fatigue, felt very good after a quick 15min nap actually) and not sure if it had any effect after. Is this normal? Should I stick it out for a few days or is this a big sign that I’m not on the right meds/dose? Nervous to keep trialling this during the workday since a midday crash is not ideal. Appreciate any advice!

I have pretty bad anxiety to the point where it affects my job performance and will cause me to waste hours because I'm trying to cope with symptoms. I hate that xanax works so well and am terrified of getting addicted to it. Wasted 2 hours this morning panicking and thinking I was about to have a heart attack or something stupid, then I took a xanax and drank some tea and I'm super focused again and my productivity is way up. Anyone else take xanax? I usually only do like 2x a week.

Maybe this is the socialist in me but shouldn’t Moderna and Pfizer waive their patent exclusivity for their Covid vaccines? Don’t we have a moral obligation for the world to vaccinate as many people as quickly as possible?

It blows my mind that many countries won’t be able to vaccinate most of their people until 2023. There should be access to vaccine generics
