Good day :) I hope everyone is doing well. I am requesting assistance from anyone in regards to a question that a Recruiter posed to me in a series of questions. This process is not that same that I am use to while working as a Recruiter Coordinator. Nevertheless I really want this job and I know that I can and will excel in the role. Yet can someone assist me one on one with one of the pre interview questions, to help me better understand? I greatly appreciate your feedback, time and support.

Last year when Covid broke, I received a couple of interview calls but ignored them as I felt the organization kept me at work when other companies cut short their HR staff so I should be with them even if with no appraisal. But now, I was living in the fool's paradise when I am told to leave with no job offers in hand, car and home loan, dependent parents, expecting jobless spouse with a 3-year old kid.

Those who do financial modeling at work: for case study in interviews, is it bad practice to submit a model based on a premade template, assuming that I understand all formulas and incorporate my own reasonable assumptions? For reference, I don’t work with fundamental modeling (quant background) so I needed to get a template to teach myself. TIA

Has anyone ever had any luck applying for a hybrid job and convincing them to let you work fully remote? I'm seeing a lot of hybrid postings for my role but not a lot of fully remote ones.

Hey all. I have an interview with an investment bank coming up. I am currently a senior associate at big 4 doing financial due diligence. Can anyone give me interviews tips/what to study? I am very new to the diligence (less than 3 months), so am far from understanding a deal start to finish.

Any advice on how to leverage current interviews for more? I’m deep into a process at one firm but would like a couple more irons in the fire.

Alright fish, so I'm from a non-target school for consulting, for reference my school typically sends a couple to the Big 4 federal practices and FDD but definitely no MBB front office. Is there any way in hell I can break into some type of non-strategy role at a Big 4 firm with a B4 audit background and industry experience?

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.

Hey fishies, I have a friend who is interested in becoming a consultant but he’s taken an interesting path, would love your advice on any good angles he could take for applying/ types of roles. He has a bachelors in science (chemistry maybe?) from H/Y/P and after undergrad he took a less traditional route and was working as an instructor for things like tennis, piano, snowboarding, etc.. Are there any good movies or novels that show skill development - like follow through? Self-management? Money management? I read a lot of self help books so I know a lot of the theory, and books peppered with examples help, but I feel like most 1 paragraph examples don’t five justice to how hard it may be to change a behavior.

I want to get an MBA to check a box for management. I’m Asian and have a bad undergrad GPA so I’m thinking online. USC Marshall would be great but it’s like 100k+. Lots out of pocket.

Thoughts on Boston University/Questrom for 25k? It’s got a bad rank but I’m not trying to do IB or management consulting.
