My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

Well I've seen two basically disappear in my group. Expenses can get you fired at any level - expenses or sex scandal
^wish they would vote my current partner out
Just takes more work to get booted. Get on your creeper A-game with the interns and you should be able to.
They aren't 'employed' so they can't be 'fired', but they can be 'separated' .
Yes but it's not as simple as non-equity staff obviously. Although at some firms the first year is essentially a probationary period so if you don't perform its relatively straightforward.
Yes but they typically just kind of fade away with no discussion
Sounds like it's more like a divorce. Do they write prenups? (Serious question) is there like a bunch of legal paperwork involved/ are they under a contract and the firm can separate from them if criteria not met?
Partner on my last project was asked to leave, resulting from a partner vote. The reason cited was lack of firm development, which we all thought was BS.. I think partnerships in some teams are pretty cut-throat.
Yea, mostly happens due to expense reporting type shit I hear
I don't know thenpaperwork but basically they won't buy back in - it usually happens at end of year in my experience. You have to really not perform I find, like square peg and round hole, these have been direct admits. Those who get promoted to partner, usually should be able to cut it or are connected enough. There are a few I see that got up to partner because they were a target group, be it focus area or a quota target the firm had, or someone basically waited their turn - like it or not that does happen
Yea EY isn't which is the one perk of a non-unit based system, the downside though is motivation and performance. At PWC and D, politics can be tougher and D is a sharktank, but if you perform you will take care of the other stuff. I wish we had more of that. Dead weight gets cut in that environment.
Not fired but bought out by p vote.
