Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

Wondering if anyone can share the approximate timeline after applying to Target Corp. to hearing something from them. Applied 9/1 and on the applicant portal the status still says “in progress.” I got a great internal referral, but I’ve not reached out to the hiring manager. 😬 I know there were a few hundred applicants — what’s a realistic timeline and what could I say to the hiring manager if I reach out to them. Context: I applied for a position a while back and got interviewed, but didn’t go to the next round. I found the same position open again a month later at a different location and applied. Companies especially startups expect you to not keep interviewing when you accept a job offer. “It can deteroriate your brand.”

But companies would replace you in a heartbeat for almost any reason. Including interviewing a candidate who will replace you (you will be fired as soon as they find a person).

So companies can fuck with the little guys but we can’t look for our best interest?

In your opinion, are the wall street prep courses good for getting a practical exposure to financial modeling and add value to resume? Are they similar to real life cases? Is it worth it?

Guys a big 4 company hr called and was saying in this time also they are hiring so they told to join at X package (which is lower than my current ctc ) , so i just said in hindi “chup” and cut the call. Then hr mailed me that due to my abusive behaviour they blacklist my name from their company. I am ok with it as long as they don’t tell other companies though.
