Can someone ever be promoted if they cannot be controlled, especially in Consulting and being on a Visa.

You mean can someone who is insubordinate and difficult to work with be promoted? I’d say they should worry about them getting fired 10 times before they even worry about not being promoted.

like

lol controlled? Meaning you don’t like to follow direction? Would you promote someone that doesn’t listen to you?

like

Part of being ready for promotion is the ability to manage up. Shift from not being ‘controlled’ to understanding limitations on capacity and capability and having the ability to give recommendations on team structure and size

like

Yes, depending on their internal network. Further, their insubordination maybe the result of being “empowered” by that same network.

In consulting, you can even be unqualified and get promoted

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

The catch is I already file my tax without those FICA tax. Should I pay them and file tax amendment?

So I just moved to consulting after B school, and It's more money than I've made my entire life. After paying for rent and living expenses, I have 6000$ left over every month. My student loan payments are about 1200/month at 7% interest. I still owe another 95K on my loan. I have the option to pay more every month and reduce my overall interest paid.
Currently I put about 3000 towards my loan and 3000 towards my savings. Cont'd...

How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?
