Hi fishes! My spouse is planning to go to India but we would need to get her visa stamped before coming back. I see that getting appointment is such a huge problem right now. Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. How do I find out if Qatar works in our case?Deloitte

Oh come on. If they’re after you, that obviously means they want to hang onto you for a while. Take the freelance offer and make extra money before they offer you a salary! Tell them you need several months of work guaranteed in writing. Quote a high day rate. Then become integral to the agency. Become indispensable. Then when they offer you, YOU COUNTER. YOU CASH IN. YOU LITERALLY HAVE A GIFT ON A SILVER PLATTER. WHAT ARE YOU EVEN ASKING US? SHOULD YOU WORK AT THE BEST AGENCY IN THE STATE? YES. SHOULD YOU TAKE THEM STRAIGHT TO THE BANK? YES.
I think it means they’re wanting to try you out for the position versus commit right away. It’s also a way for them to avoid having to offer f/t benefits...
No benefits or commitment--same hours and work.
If you have a good full-time job now and they're the ones who've been chasing you, then you should be able to tell them directly that you're interested in joining if they make you a full-time job offer. Don't just accept their bullshit
It means they dont want to pay for health insurance or a 401k. Theres probably some cap on the number of blah blah per month, or the budget for blizz blazz vs him ham.
Specifics are over our head, but the answer is 💰
If it’s a WPP agency, they’re known for this. Especially because they have to report Q2 results in 6 weeks. Take the extra money and be happy about it
@CW1 I hope I work with you one day. 👍🏼
Why doe - they’re saying it’s to see if I like the position but...if it’s the other way around is it to simply measure performance? Why would an agency of this size give a fuck if they let someone go full time vs. freelance if benefits etc don’t kick in until after 90 days anyway? I’m conflicted because I already have an amazing job, but they’ve been after me - I didn’t even apply, and for weeks they’ve been calling, and now it comes down to the offer and it’s “freelance”. I wouldn’t even be considering it, but it’s the best agency in the state. v conflicting.
Are they talking about a permalance position? You’re there as a “freelance” position but you’ll be working there without a contract end date.
Mmmm. Him ham
thank you for these amazing answers. v helpful, much appreciate
Yeah, make thaaaat baaaaaaank while you can- then when they finally get room on the right spreadsheet, ask for a high salary because they know you're good, you know the accounts, and the team trusts you.
Yes - no end date or contract
Yo, get that day rate and don’t ask questions.
@CD1 WPP actually has rules against allowing freelancers to work full-time for more than 9 months straight and they have strict FTE to freelance ratios they enforce to ensure freelance doesnt exceed a specific share of total billable hours. So, I'm not sure what you are referring to in your comment.
