Personally, I don’t think swimsuits automatically equal sexy. Are you posing like a VS model in them? Then maybe. I’m not a lawyer but I’m fairly certain as long as you’re not making any references at all to your company on your IG and especially not redirecting from LinkedIn or something then I think you’re fine. I would however consider the level of professionalism. Having fun in a swimsuit, cool. Two seconds away from a nip slip and in a thong bikini? Prooobably not
Pro-boob-ly* not
I am certainly going to give myself away to those that know me, but trying to be helpful. I spent a few years cheering in the NFL prior to business school/BCG. I had a different last name, but it isn’t too difficult to search and find photos of me in uniform (which is pretty bikini like) if you know that fact. Maybe some bikini calendar photos, but think those are probably much harder to find.
I don’t broadcast this to clients unless I think there is a good connection point I can leverage for the relationship (e.g., someone served in Afghanistan while I was touring there). But I wouldn’t lie if someone asked. Most people I work with at BCG know eventually. I think it’s on you to own the narrative if it something that you think others will easily find. As someone pointed out above, I wouldn’t refer to them as “sexy bikini pics.” Is it s side job? Maybe describe it as a profession you are exploring? Frame it in ways that don’t focus on the sexy and focus more on why you are posting these if it is for something other than you wanting to look cute online.
It would be a lot easier if your accounts weren’t public; most of those images are discoverable if people really want to find them, but don’t make it so easy that when people do a quick google search to your accounts they pop up. I think our social media policy would technically look down on this as damaging to reputation, but it’s a little murky / in a grey area.
I would have to see the photos...
You’re the worst 😂
Got let go for this photo shoot
SC1 wins this thread! 🙌🏻
One word advice: if someone brings it up, maybe don't refer to them as "my sexy pictures" 😂
@M1...woooosh
Depends how sexy. If 1-3/10 then probably. If 4-7/10 then maybe. 8-10/10 then you have nothing to worry about.
If we are being honest, you might even get promoted if you’re in the 8-10/10 range.
Legit - half of the comments on this post are thirsty AF 😂. That road life getting to some of you?
SERIOUSLY
So that firm branded Borat mankini suit is a bad idea? Bummer.
I'd still rock it
Depends on if you have to force people to look at them
No. They will just fire us for looking
Can confirm I took a nipply pic during a company offsite and now it's on our office fridge. Magnet covers the nipple sometimes...
Post the pic’s for a comprehensive answer
Fired
I’m a photographer, working with model agencies in my city, and I like to take fashion pictures, sometimes there’s nudity in them (but I don’t do that awful boudoir or glamour style). My team knows and follows me on Instagram, still employed. There’s also an EA at the office who’s an influencer of the beach and swimsuit variety, a percentage of her large following is consultants, and I don’t think she’s in any kind of trouble.
That explains it A1, you Euros have much more personal latitude around self-expression
Y'all understand this could be a dude also, so it could be thirsty males or females or both. Not sure what pronouns would be appropriate
*They* are thirsty AF. The pervert flag can be flown by all in 2019. #progressBro
People who think you can be fired for this clearly show that the company they work in still have some way to go in regards to D&I. D&I is not about sexuality or race only. It’s about acceptance of people who are different from us. Just because you like to pose in swimsuit doesn’t make you any less than someone who like to pose professionally. What you say or do in your free time is of no business to anyone in the firm and you shouldn’t be intimidated by people who tell you what is unacceptable to them as long as you are not breaking the law or quoting the company you work for. You’re on a swimsuit FFS, not birthday suit! And even if you are so what...none of us came into the world in suit and tie. People need to get over the fact that nudity is evil and be body confident!
The mixed responses remind me why I hate corporate america. So much perception, politics, and unspoken judgement. I shouldn’t feel scared or cautious to live my life outside of work when it doesn’t negatively impact my work performance.
OP dm me some pics and I’ll do a personal review to determine appropriateness
I say if you wouldn't want your parents to see it is a good barometer.
If ur gonna post those pics why bother being in consulting. You can make much better money posting swimsuit pics on insta fulltime!
A teacher recently got fired because an ex-bf posted a sext online. Be careful
IIRC the teacher is suing the school.
