Personally, I don’t think swimsuits automatically equal sexy. Are you posing like a VS model in them? Then maybe. I’m not a lawyer but I’m fairly certain as long as you’re not making any references at all to your company on your IG and especially not redirecting from LinkedIn or something then I think you’re fine. I would however consider the level of professionalism. Having fun in a swimsuit, cool. Two seconds away from a nip slip and in a thong bikini? Prooobably not
Pro-boob-ly* not
I am certainly going to give myself away to those that know me, but trying to be helpful. I spent a few years cheering in the NFL prior to business school/BCG. I had a different last name, but it isn’t too difficult to search and find photos of me in uniform (which is pretty bikini like) if you know that fact. Maybe some bikini calendar photos, but think those are probably much harder to find.
I don’t broadcast this to clients unless I think there is a good connection point I can leverage for the relationship (e.g., someone served in Afghanistan while I was touring there). But I wouldn’t lie if someone asked. Most people I work with at BCG know eventually. I think it’s on you to own the narrative if it something that you think others will easily find. As someone pointed out above, I wouldn’t refer to them as “sexy bikini pics.” Is it s side job? Maybe describe it as a profession you are exploring? Frame it in ways that don’t focus on the sexy and focus more on why you are posting these if it is for something other than you wanting to look cute online.
It would be a lot easier if your accounts weren’t public; most of those images are discoverable if people really want to find them, but don’t make it so easy that when people do a quick google search to your accounts they pop up. I think our social media policy would technically look down on this as damaging to reputation, but it’s a little murky / in a grey area.
Would you be happy if your client, team and boss saw them?
It doesn’t matter what rules say, it’s perception that matters. The fact that you have to ask suggests it’s not something you’d be comfortable with.
OP you should probably have stated that so you could get the most specific advice....? IMO there are (unfortunately) different standards when it comes to women/gay men (NOT saying I think this is right! Just what I notice in society)
Whoever it she he they is, they’re thirsty AF
Love it. Inclusive asf!
Why do you want to post? I would be more on the conservative side as in today’s world don’t give anyone an excuse
Agree with Booz, if for your friends why make public
I’m safe — “sexy” definitely not a word that comes to mind for someone seeing me in a swimsuit!
No but I didn’t hire someone because they had super racy pictures that popped up when a first-three-results google search. Showed poor professionalism to me as clients might do the same
Or we could just get over our creepy hang ups and accept that everybody has a body.
What’s your gram?
In all seriousness it is a perception business. I think the bigger deal is with coworkers or clients becoming interested in you and the possible harassment that can derive from that.
Can your clients or senior leadership see it? Are you reaching out to them on social media?
Public account full of bikini pics. A corporate influence + social media influencer in 1
No, as long as it’s not anything illegal/scandalous you can post about whatever you want
If you post them on LinkedIn, maybe.
Just share with HR that you model swim suit as a hobby or for money but no conflict with client work/business. Think doing that is courteous and the rest is up to you- how you feel about the pictures and potential effect to your imagine(in terms of bias)
Think, when looking for future jobs, it might come up. Just make sure they are tasteful and it shouldn't be an issue for companies that would be worth working for.
You should be good at that strategy role 😂
Probably not...but I wouldn’t staff you as I know clients will randomly search names of my team on fb, LinkedIn, and others...and the last thing I’d want is a potential distraction...if you had a way of hiding your name and the picture are not clearly you...then I’d have less of a problem with it
What distraction are you worried about? How would it harm an engagement ?
This thread is hilarious, thanks for making my day!
If it’s a public account with your name, then yes it’s possible
