Of course. Why wouldn't you be able to? There are no laws that restrict certified professionals from obtaining other certifications.

Yes, my question is more about the two year experience requirement of detecting fraud and how you would go about attaining / working around that as a tax professional not really involved in auditing

As a CFE, you have to have professional work in the fraud space and be able to demonstrate it in your application. You also have to have three references that can speak to your work.

At EY tax, you are a part time auditor. All provision work is delegated to the tax people.

Hi! I currently work as a senior consultant but my client (a major bank) has made it clear they would be interested in hiring me full time into a product role (VP). If I want to eventually exit to a major tech company or small start up more aligned to my values (interested in health tech) but stay as a PM — is it better to exit now into this role or stay as a consultant? Anyone have any thoughts/ advice? I feel some pressure to apply, but not certain which role would be best for my career.

Got an offer with a 35% bump doing similar work and with the option with some remote (usually work in the office full time). Commute is a tad longer and its a small, young firm. I’ve always worked for the big guys — Deloitte, ACN. I guess the worry is the unknown of a small firm with only a handful of contracts. Granted I do hold a TS/SCI w/ poly, so if it goes bust I should be fine job security wise. Go for it?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

Looking to network with other consultants (probably software or project/program management) in the area.
Where are the good places to look for networking opportunities?

Our company of 110 EEs has separate providers for payroll and HRIS, not happy with either products. I’m gathering data to make a pitch to move everything into an all-in-one HRIS + payroll.

Does it make any difference to make the change effective the first week of 2023 payroll, or to make a change in payroll providers mid year? I’m thinking it’s best to start fresh at the beginning of the year and not worry about two payroll companies for reporting. What are other things to consider?

Currently an associate with two years of experience. Recently received a B4 offer for senior. How should I approach negotiating? Should I do it? It’s my only offer so idk how much leverage I have.

Salams; I’m looking to rent out a room in my house in Austin. If anyone knows any Muslim guys looking for a place here, let me know please! Thanks!
