Canadians who worked in Canada but now live and work in USA — when you retire, will you receive social security/retirement benefits from Canada as well?

No

I think it depends on how much money you’ve paid into it

No. When you leave Canada you lose your residency for all tax and or benefit purposes. Case in point: When I visit Canada, I cannot utilize our free healthcare.

It sucks. When I visit home, I have to buy travellers insurance through the US. No joke.

Using Marriott Bonvoy points for a stay for my parents: I have in the past used my SPG points and added my father’s name (by teaching out to the hotel after booking) to the reservation. It worked just fine and they even benefits fronm my Elite benefits (free breakfast). Just booked a stay for February for them and read the following “Hotel rewards e-certificates can only be requested by a Marriott Rewards member for a reservation in that member's own name. E-certificates will not be honored”

I got sick with what I at first thought was stomach bug last Sunday (vomiting, fatigue, then crazy chills and body aches). Lasted 1 day. My nose was also a bit congested, so went to get a pcr on Monday and got a positive result. Tested again at 2 diff places on Wed - 2 negatives. All pcr. Had no symptoms since Sunday. Has anyone had something similar happen to them? Was it just false positive (everyone’s been saying that almost never happens), or just super mild case of Covid?
