I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. How common are credit checks for roles in accounting or finance positions? Will high utilization on credit card balances and low credit score be a deal breaker? I’ve been irresponsible and made mistakes, but wondering if I can switch jobs now or if I’m best off waiting 1-2 years and cleaning up my credit first.

How do firms calculate how much parental leave to provide, either paid or unpaid. Or do they just pick a number, like “yeah they can get to know their kid in a few weeks and I couldn’t possibly have that attorney out for 12 weeks?” I’m at a small firm, no FMLA or state requirement. We get four weeks paid and four weeks unpaid. Would like to push for more but not sure how to argue costs side of it.

I rented a house that had been vacant for a bit & the prior tenant didn’t do a thorough job cleaning up. Agent indicated the owner would be open to having the house cleaned but I would need to have the house professionally cleaned when I moved out (that was fine w me). I just received the bill from the owner for $250, which is super annoying bc there was no expectation communicated that I would foot the bill for this, more so bc the cleaner did a LOUSY job. California peeps. I have a feeling I failed FAR, which is my last exam, but my score isn’t released until May 11. Can I submit the reapplication with the CA Board of Accountancy to speed up the retake and NTS process in case I failed? Or do I need to get my exam score first? I need to pass by mid June, else my REG score expires, hence the rush to resubmit the re-application.

Just took FAR for the fourth time today 😂 LOTS of not for profit questions and even sims were not for profit!!!!! Definitely more than 5-15% Becker said!!! I got like 60% was based on NFP!

Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

Is BEC doable in 2.5 weeks while working full time - 40 hours? I plan on dedicating 3 hours each weekday and 12 hours each weekend day. I most likely will also have a bit of time during working hours.

So Becker was supposed to charge me $600 to update for unlimited access since my account was due to expire in March. I called them in December to make payment. Now 8months later...they reach out to me saying they only charged $35. I just checked my bank statement and they are right but i don't have $600 sitting around...What do i do? Thoughts?
