OP sorry, but if you can't simply say no and move on you're boned. I'm a patient, a user, activist, and I teach weed school on the weekends. There are no labor protections for patients in any state in which I'm aware, especially if your client has operations in multiple / non-MMJ states. I'd recommend laying low unless you are ready to fight the good fight. If you need help my burner is fishbowl420burner@gmail.com (seriously).
Then get a home test, they are available pretty much everywhere and pretty accurate. See if you pass, then go from there. I've fought the fight in a couple areas OP, I wouldn't recommend it for the ill prepared.
Legal as in I have a doctor's prescription; doesn't matter what it's for.
I'd notify your manager/ your team lead immediately
Legal as in you're from California and your "doctor" prescribed it for "irritable bowel syndrome"? Or legal as in a proper doctor prescribed it for legitimate medical issues.
Update: talked to my manager and he said not to worry too much about it, that he'll try to get us out of it given that we hadn't agreed to it at the start of the project. At the very least, it looks like it won't be for at least another week. Meanwhile I'm drinking lots of water and I'll get a home drug test to check, since I haven't used for a few weeks anyway. Maybe it'll all work out?
And another thing. These drug tests pretty much only catch weed smokers. You do hard drugs and they are out your system by the end of the weekend! How fair is that?
Actually you're only legal under state law. Federal law still bans the use of marijuana. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you just like getting high and don't have a legit medical condition.. with all that being said, why the F do employers care? Not like your operating heavy equipment.
Nothing a travel size shampoo bottle can't solve
On a separate note, how fucked up is it that OP could have a script for oxy, xanax, soma, Percocet, roxy, Ritalin, adderral, etc and it would be a cause for sympathy vs. a cause for termination?
Trump's America... bah humbug
A3 don't make this about trump....it's been like this forever
I'd go up to project mgmt level, not immed superiors
Show your doctors letter dude
OP. Don't exercise and eat normally. You don't want the stored cannabinoids to show up on your urine sample. If you're in decent shape, the home drug test will come out to be negative after about 10 days of not using. You said it has been 4 weeks, you'll be fine. Just remember on the day of your test, wake up really early and make sure the pee that you give is 3rd or the 4th for the day
Use a friends clean sample 😏
You can clean out with cranberry max, flush niacin, and water in a few days if you follow it strictly. Like start Thursday and if you are of normal BMI or less you should be fine. You can go to CVS to buy tests to see your progression.
Depends
Also depends on the client...in some spaces they are very strict in others it's just a formality which may be bipassed
Deloitte commercial policy on this is very clear (and surprisingly progressive), federal sucks obviously.
@OP if it's legal where you are and prescribed you should be fine. If they give you an issue involve HR and your doctor.
