I was part of the tech layoffs over the past couple of weeks. I have an opportunity to go back in house or back to a law firm. Both are great opportunities and comparable comp. Pro of law firm - stability (less likely to be laid off). Pro of in house - no billable hours. Should I ride out the recession at a law firm until things settle down or take the risk and go back to in house?

My spouse was laid off recently and recently interviewed for her dream job at a large tech co. They told her that it could be a few months before the budget opens up but that they really like her. She just interviewed for another job that likes her a lot but she doesn’t love. She’s considering taking the role as a bridge to other role opens up. I think it’s better for her to wait it out. Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital.
