Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon
I want to earn good money without compromising on WLB.
This is my profile

From one rookie to another: don't give too many options, make sure expectations for performance and deadlines are clear.
Make sure you have good air cover over you. If people over you aren't on aligned with you it'll be bad for you and your peeps
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) good luck my man
Expectation discussions - what's expected from each person and what goals they have that align with the project work (1:1 or as a team)
In a stretch M role, you'll need an SM that dedicates time to your project, not the one check in a week fly by you'll typically get. As long as that person is insulating you until you feel comfortable you should be fine
Think out loud, it'll help your analysts better be able to "read your mind" and be able to anticipate what's needed and get things right the first time
Stay plugged in to the needs and performance of your team. Learn to manage both up and down.
The fact that you're thinking about this is a really good start! I appreciate managers who are mindful about my experience as an analyst
Clarity of what you expect from them. Coach closely, review, provide feedback, checking in frequently at first. Let the line out at each one's pace. Provide Plan and updates to client and your supervisor. And same goes for your clarity of what is expected of you and your team. Due date is way too late. Good luck!
Schedule 1:1s every week or two with all of your analysts to chat about how everything is going to make sure you stay aligned and in touch
Agreed on the above about clear expectations. My other biggest thing is to genuinely get to know them. Remember that relationships go a long way... even between levels. Don't get tempted into just seeing your people as a means to an end goal.
if you're being billed out as a Manager, but being paid as a Consultant, make sure your CC points this out during Talent Discussion calls during review season.
Thanks everyone! Very helpful advice.
@A5 how do you know your billing rate?
You don't have to talk actual dollars. Easy pitch that they could book a consultant into a manager role. Compelling on those performance calls. Best indicator of someone ready for promotion is that they are already performing at the next level.
