I have a very similar background to you and make $87k in PA on Dallas (MCOL?) so $85k in LA seems really low even for industry (if that's what you were researching)

likefunny

Assurance and actually I lied, I forgot about the recent increases, so maxed out (according to HR) at 89.9k. So really not worth it in LA lol

85 is too low for FS roles I’d expect 90 on the low end and 120 on the high end. For non FS roles I’d say 85k is in the middle of the range. Source: had to job search for 6 months recently

Thanks that’s really helpful! It’s always nice to have an idea of the range. Hope you found a job you’re happy with 😉

From an internet search it seems like 85K per year is reasonable, but that sounds a little low in my opinion. I understand there may be some differences in the type of industry, especially financial services vs. others. I’m mostly wondering about jobs in non-FS industries. From my understanding FS jobs may pay closer to 100K per year. But after working in FS for almost all my years in audit I have no intention of specializing in FS. Could anyone confirm this understanding?

I would expect 100-115. That advisory experience is great. It’s important to show that off at your interview

Thanks! Your comment helps make me feel a little more confident in my experience :)

I know 3 people that left right when they made senior in audit. Left for around 90k so I’m assuming you should be over 100k

What level are you in cmaas? S2 would be close to if not over 100 already, manager add another 20%. I wouldn’t look at anything below 125

I interviewed for a role for another team within my organization and went on PTO for 2 days. When I came back my director told me I didn’t get the role but there were better plans for me in the near future. I joined D's Workday practice as a C and been here ~8 months. I'm getting an offer from a lesser known practice with a 66% increase and a promo to SC. I currently love my job and team. The only motivation to jump is the money. If i stayed at D i'd prob get promoted next year and yet it wont match the salary i'm getting offered today. The money would allow me to reach my goals a lot faster, but is right to move just for the money? I know the work at the other firm will be less interesting.

I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?

I had a 1st round interview last week and I didn’t love the sound of the job. It’s in higher ed. It would also be a 20k pay cut (105 -> 85). They want to do a final round with me this week. During the interview, the director who would be my manager said they are understaffed and very busy. She also said someone in this role needs to love working. I don’t necessarily want to transition to another busy place for a pay cut. The only perk I see is the time off university staff get and tuition...comt
