He told me that I quoted 9 LPA so we can not do more "unless you have any counter offer"

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well and staying safe during the holiday season. I wanted to take a moment to highlight a role that I’m hiring for - Sr. Learning & Talent Development Partner. If you’re interested, I’ve added to the Fishbowl jobs board - https://joinfishbowl.com/job_rpc2p5vsvq. Feel free to reach out directly if you’d like to chat. :)
Guys help me on this -

Not at that salary he’s not
Lol I’m not suggesting that by any means - just politely making a correction. Anyway, that’s not what this thread is about - any thoughts on what I should say?
For a hedge fund this would be reasonable and perhaps a even short-selling yourself. For a bank, it’s more regimented in terms of compensation and structure and I couldn’t be sure.
300 sounds high but it depends on what the role is. If it’s true back office my guess is salary is more like low $200’s
Are you a PPMD at a B4?
What official title at the bank (VP or SVP)?
Anyway, to answer your question, if it’s back office, you usually won’t hit $300k until heavy SVP depending on bank size.
Doubt you will hit 300k; 275 max
