What was it? Can’t imagine ONE admission would sink you, unless it was “I have a hard time NOT groping my colleagues”
⚰️⚰️⚰️
Take it as a sign that this would have been a sh!t job and culture.
If you’re currently out of work and looking, I’m sorry for what probably feels like a setback. If you’re currently working, consider yourself lucky that you dodged a bullet and that you’re a step closer to a better situation.
Thanks a ton, chief. I’d work for you any time.
Are you me? I allowed myself to tell a story and explain what I learned from it and how it plays into the empathy I lead with (I manage a team and this was for a manager role). The interviewer told me he was happy I shared the vulnerable moment.
After I was like f**k, maybe it was wrong. Heard nothing since. At all.
I totally understand your feeling like it could be that one thing. But, maybe it wasn’t. Maybe it was you vs someone else who fit just a little bit better. Keep being you. Honestly and openly. I’d hire a real human who admits to mistakes in an instant. Good luck, friend.
Thank you so much for the reply and I’m sorry for your experience as well.
We are in the business of lying (truth manipulation, whatever) so never deviate from that even during the interview.
MM1 just said the quiet thing out loud
Gosh, been there. Like every time hahaha. But you know what, eff em. Don’t play that what if game. Play the numbers game. Keep trying. It could really be a million different reasons. The best job will let you be yourself. I personally never really care about books, and always hire based on connection. Don’t sweat it. Keep moving.
Same happened to me:
Second interview with CD and ECD went well. They said they wanted a fresh creative mind that didn’t necessarily had expertise in the client sector. They loved me.
Third (and possibly final) interview, the hiring CD asked me about that expertise. I admitted my fault, as I had previously done so. I later received a rejection email stating that they went with someone with more experience in that area.
I thought the same thing as you: Do I fake it till i make it? Or did I dodge a bullet by not entering a role that demanded something I might not have yet?
Chief
Was it not wearing live spiders ? Can’t stop won’t stop.
I had an amazing few rounds of interviews wir a company that seemed like a great fit. Then was ghosted. Might not be the comment, sadly it’s so common to ghost these days

Had a candidate once tell me about how many cars they’ve totaled by accident in their life (7). It was a very colorfully told story. Felt like a bad omen.
(It was a client service role)
