Dealing with layoffs at my company and am about to have a second round interview with a fairly big PE firm for a 6 month contract position. Doesn’t cover health insurance which can be expensive but there is an opportunity for an offer afterwards if performance is satisfactory. Is it worth the gamble to take this contract position and get a taste of what the culture is like or just continue looking for jobs/a potential career change?

Probably depends on what the role actually is. if it's something that's normally difficult to get as an accountant, then it might be worth the gamble, but if it's a typical exit then probably not.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.
