I work with great people. Really can’t say anything bad about my firm in general either. But…I still dislike the entire premise of law firm life, the billable hour, etc.. I’d love to work in a law school setting as a counselor or something but I can’t afford the pay cut. *sigh* Does anyone feel like being a lawyer is just doing homework all day? Good morning! I work in Medicare sales and I’m just getting tired of sales because I have to change these elderly people on their insurance very frequently, and it’s frustrating most of the time. I eventually want to be a Christian counselor and I just stared school but that’ll take awhile to get where I want to be. I just want to be happy right now without taking a major pay cut leaving sales. I’m making 80k now, I don’t need to keep making that but a decent amount while still helping people. 🙏

Have new analyst on the team with an MBA and project experience. After working with them for 2 months it’s apparent that there are 0 consulting skills (excel, outlook, PowerPoint) and they freeze up even on internal calls. They are young and coachable, and I offered to put time into that. However at a company event they made no effort to get to know the team and chose to stick to their familiar colleagues in their home office. I’d like to ask for a new resource but interested in feedback.

This past year was/is the worst in my life by far. Aside from all the Covid mess we’ve all dealt with I lost a parent, an in-law, my spouse has decided they no longer want to be married and my grandmother is in hospice with days left. I believe this was/is my least productive year in my career as a result. I’m worried my job won’t be here in a few months and I’m doing my best to hold it together. Sorry to be a downer but I just needed to throw my worries out there in hopes they never come back.
