Deloitte Engagement Financial Analyst (EFA) Practice - Could someone inside the practice or the firm provide some insight on this practice? I was recently contacted by a recruiter about the practice, and it sounds intriguing but I still have a lot of questions. Particularly whether this is a consulting role, or more of an internal budgeting role? If you also don’t mind sharing, am very curious of the work/life balance and salary expectations. Thank you in advance!

As an EFA I can tell you it’s an internal role. While you may be interacting with clients on billing questions that’s pretty much the extent. The role has gotten more “admin” since I started.

The groups model is VERY focused on India resources.

There is an expectation of charging a minimum of 45hrs a week to client code which can be difficult if you don’t have many accounts you support. This is pretty closely monitored by leadership even though it isn’t your fault the partners can’t sell work.

Since you are in Deloitte services and are a “cost” to the firm. Comp is lackluster to pitiful.

Because of the work life balance and the comp, there has been a lot of attrition. The good people are all leaving because of this.

A word of advice (that was given to me when I got an offer but ignored) - hold out and go somewhere else in industry! Just the honest truth - happy to answer anything else

Too sad to hear that since I have an interview this week. I thought this role is related to internal FP&A as the job description states. Could you share how many working hours for this role (specially in NYC)? Comp range for Analyst and Consultant? Glassdoor range is too big.

like

It’s an internal budgeting role from my understanding. I’m not in the group but I know on bigger clients , each team gets assigned an EFA to help with invoicing and managing charge codes. I’m sure the recruiter tried to sway it a different way and sell you a role that sounds nice but that’s their job. They are essentially sales people.

you generate invoices and send them to the clients. When the clients don't pay you follow up.

What would you choose? MBB (Digital practice) or Amazon PMT?

Background: T15 MBA student, 7YoE as Mech engineer, long term goal is to climb ladder in Tech, married and have a 2year old

Situation: I have a MBB and Amazon PMT offer for summer internship that I need to choose. MBB comes with FT offer, Amazon PMT will most likely result in return offer. If I go with MBB, I plan to exit to big Tech in 2-3 years. Y1 TC for both will be quite similar (around 230k).

Thank you in advance!

I’m currently a third year in my small firm’s life sciences team. I’m not really stimulated by the work and although they say they have a lot of work, they’re not good at managing workload. I haven’t had much work on my plate even after asking many times for more than six months. I’m ready to move to a larger law firm. However, I am concerned how I’ll manage the workload as a mom to a toddler. The good thing about my firm is that they’re flexible with hours. Anyone have experience balancing?

I have been at my company for 3.5 years. One year ago (2.5 years into my employment with them) they re-leveled everyone and I was bumped to an entry level position on the terms that they changed my job title when they re-leveled, so “technically” I am at the early stages of my new title. Even though the job duties did not really change.
I’m not sure the best way to approach this. Has anyone else had a similar experience or know how I should advocate for myself?

Hello fellow SAP Consultants!
I am SAP HCM consultant having 4.10 years of experience. I feel that this module doesn’t have any growth. My first switch took me to 9LPA from 6LPA and now the second switch is being offered for 11.5LPA where I can see my fellow friends in SAP having more than 15LPA at the same experience on their second switch itself. Should I be worried about my skillset? Any insights would highly be appreciated. I feel stuck.
