The winning move is to: 1) Seek an expedited interview with the other group (“since I’m evaluating another offer right now”) 2) Get the offer 3) Pit the two Deloitte offers against one another 4) Share the result and become a legend

Yes! This is the way.

Hilarious. Yes, and cc your initial recruiter on the correspondence. That should expedite a response.

Which vertical sounds more interesting? Are they both in same subsidiary (consulting vs advisory)? The key here will definitely be transparency.

Hilarious.

Which domain /vertical ? And how was the offer? I recently got the offer too at the same level

Hey there. I am speaking to a D recruiter later this week. May I ask how was your interview process? Did you have to do a case interview and what was the difficulty level, if yes?

Yes, case and technical. Not difficult at all if you know your stuff. You have to drive the conversation.

SM offer approvals are taking a long time to get approved, several weeks. The other group technically shouldn’t be able to interview you with the other offer in process, so you probably won’t be able to move very far. But if you genuinely think the other vertical may be of interest, it doesn’t hurt to find out more. The $$ would probably be the same

Please don’t waste someone’s time asking for a referral if someone else already gave you one. Most companies won’t let you have more than one referral and all you do is eat up someone’s time that is willing to help you out. It’s happened more than a few times now; just be honest that you want to learn more about a company / role and I’ll be just as willing to help you.

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

Saw an article recently how companies are investing in surveillance tools to evaluate the "productivity" of their employees since many transitioned to remote work. There are trackers out there that would screenshot your current desktop view at intervals, how long you've been typing/clicking, etc... it feels incredibly invasive. I think this needs to be listed very clearly in the employee handbook. Has your company been transparent with you about how they are tracking you?
