Does anyone have experience with Ben Glass’s “Great Legal Marketing” programs? https://greatlegalmarketing.com
I ordered a free “starter kit” from his company and received a decent-sized box with some books and audio CD’s. Haven’t listened to the CD’s yet, but the books aren’t bad, with plenty of practical advice.
Now he’s running a promotion where you can get two months of his basic-level course for just $19.95 to cover the cost of shipping. It seems that Ben is one of the better-regarded legal marketing “gurus” out there.
I am a Principal Solutions Architect with 13 YOE of which 5 years exp is with Biotech focusing on Public Cloud (AWS) & overall AWS exp. 9 years. I need suggestions /opinions if applying for a Senior Solutions Architect (Level6) at AWS makes sense or if I should aim for a Principal SA (level 7) role at AWS with Healthcare & Lifesciences industry experience. If it makes any difference, I worked for AWS ProServe as an external SA in the past. Any insights / feedback appreciated.

Well, if you are my interviewer, I want 135 minimum 😉. Thanks for the insight
They are desperate in federal. Especially especially with existing clearances. Be bold
Lol just being bold! 😇
D2 isn't wrong. But I've seen the principal hold a line and let someone go despite the need on my own team.
OP, you clearly didn't read my post carefully enough and missed where I don't get involved in salary discussions.
-$10k for griffendor!!!
😜
Rank honesty ... +$5k for Slytherin
I'd expect senior consultant with a range of 95-135. I don't make salary decisions but I see the financials for a 100 person contract so have some sense of range. And if this is a human capital interview i also might be your interviewer since there is a smallish of cadre they bring out for cleared interviews 😁
You have a lot of leverage with the TS/SCI. Aim on the higher end. I would expect at least 135.
95 would be crazy low, no? Just comparing it to audit with the same years of experience and you’d be making more than that.
Value experience over dollar amount. In the long run you will get more out of your career
@D1/D2, what would you say the minimum salary would be while being bold
Sr cons or manager? Maybe with the TS. I’d bet Sr cons 125. Unless top mba school
Go for SC 140
135 with 6 years experience will make getting staffed on a federal project very tough due to financials. Shoot for it. But expect 120-125
D1 - Close friend who I referred to the firm signed on for 135k as an SC with 7.5 years exp and TS:SCI. Zero issues staffing him on multiple engagements in his first year with almost zero bench time. All depends on the candidate/ new SC.
D5, that is great to hear.
I'll say though there are very very few federal human capital projects where a 135k salary plus our wrap rate won't end up with a fully burdened rate that is in the single digit profit range if not negative at the Project Lead labor category which requires 9 years experience. So at the Sr Con II LCAT, which needs 7 years, that salary will be a loss.
Sure some contracts have better rates than mine, but not many and not by much. D isn't known for bidding low rates. So then that SC had better provide enough value that it's worth running them at no profit.
And that's a gamble for a staffing manager for a new hire no less a known quantity.
D1-in the Fed space you are a notorious low bidder! At least in IT you win in low cost
GMC in the Fed space for 135k at 6 years exp? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
