I don't recline either, but it's a person's choice. If they do t want you to recline, eliminate the functionality.
Not for personal travel and where don’t have status for potential upgrades. Also, it’s not like I’ve worked my whole life in consulting and never sat in Spirit/RyanAir/TigerJet before.
I don’t recline unless it’s a long haul flight (cross country US) or longer or I’m in first class. But I agree that I do check behind me first. If someone is working on their computer I won’t. It’s amazing what a little bit of communication and respect can do to make everyone’s flight a bit less hellish.

If you recline in front of me while I work, the PC goes on my lap. Honestly it’s only slightly more shitty working like that than it already was on the plane so I don’t get the big deal
What airlines are people flying on that reclining they seat goes into the other persons space. When I recline my seat it feels like a normal, sanely angled seat as opposed to being hunched forward in the “upright” position

Perhaps airlines need to understand there has been a shift in the utility expected by clients.
He’ll always fly commercial. Comfort plus at best on domestic. Delta One at best if international. Partner works at Delta and is familiar with his travel arrangements.
