Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Occasionally the Ritz will be cheaper than the Marriott or other options. All depends on the spot market at that time and place.
To clarify: we do stay at the top tier of the big chains (eg Ritz/Regis) when it’s not outrageous. Most projects are fixed fee and expense, so it doesn’t impact client Billings and most partners want to make this job as comfortable as possible for their teams.
It’s far less common for us to stay at true top-tier hotels like the Langham, Peninsula, Dorchester Collection, etc that regularly run >$1k/night
I’ve had dreams about partners wanting remote travel projects to be as comfortable as possible...
We do
If it’s not the Ritz I’m not going
This whole thread pretty much just revealed that Accenture is just cheap AF
This is probably more project-specific. At D, I was regularly staying in Alofts or Westins on my projects...but knew of folks on another project staying at their local Ritz on the reg.
Staying at the most notorious RC for months, no booze though
The royal prison :-)
We did on a project. However we were able to get the client rate at the Ritz and it was just as cheap as the Marriott/Westin/etc
Ahh must have been in CLT
Friends at Goldman stay at top tier hotels when they travel.
When do associates at banks travel?
We do
Yeah it of course depends on what our preferred hotels are by city but we often have great hotels like the St Regis in policy. Ritz is relatively common as well. With stuff like Mandarin orientals and so forth it’ll be city by city
We do
We do, but it depends on the project and what the hotel options are.
At EY^
We had a project team stay at the Ritz for a couple years. Got a negotiated rate that was same as standard Marriotts.
I let my team stay at the Ritz
And this year he finally landed back on his feet at Deloitte.
Ya. For sure. But unfortunately they aren't where I travel most of the time. We actually have a very good rate with R-C. Love four seasons when I'm in a tier 1 city but that's rare.
We have excellent rates with R-C, but it can be hit or miss with other top tier hotels (e.g., not always cheap enough rate)
I did
McK stays at Four Seasons
I avoid them at all cost. Stuffy and no points. But yes, it is often within policy
If travel is to a city with a high end points giving hotel like ritz, st Regis, I will always ask team to figure out a way to stay there. Makes up for the Hampton inn we have to stay at in smaller towns.
