Usually yes. The more work experience or valuable specialization you have the less they'll rate grades but it's still seen as an indicator of being able and willing to put in the work to achieve excellent results
Roger that makes perfect sense. Also is there a huge barrier to entry Trying to come from federal Deloitte even if you can play off of strategy etc experience
I don’t think any experience will be a negative but without knowing your exact experience I can’t say whether it will add to your profile
Is an MBA required for MBB or only highly preferred or doesnt matter really?
McK definitely asks for transcripts of you’re coming right out of school but I’m not 100% sure for experienced hires.
As for the MBA thing, for McK it doesn’t really matter. It just changes the role you’re hired into: business analyst for undergrad, masters, or 2-3ish years of experience; associate for MBA, PhD, or 5+ish years of experience.
The roles are essentially the same thing except associates are expected to progress to the next role a bit quicker
Of course!
Each interview will be ~1 hour with half focused on your personal experience and half on the case
For the personal experience it’s the part where they’ll as the “tell me about a time when...” questions. For our interviews there is only one of these questions but you’ll dive into a lot of detail. Typically you’d give a short overview of the example and the interviewer will ask follow up questions. Things like: did you consider X at this point, why did you decide to do Y, why do you think Z happened, etc. They’re trying to understand how you were thinking about the situation as it happened so it’s helpful for you to take the time in advance to remember those sorts of details
