That’s rough. I’m definitely more recharged
I tend to feel reenergized after holidays. But the feeling never lasts longer than it takes me to get caught up on all the stuff I missed while I was away. Hope you get some time to rest a bit.
Thanksgiving I do the majority of food prep and it is a much shorter amount of time I take off so after that I am worn out coming back to work. Now though, while I did have a lot to do, not as much plus with the amount of time off for me after, I do get to come back to work actually feeling like I got a break!
I'm neither more depleted or more energized. The first day back at work after a holiday is the same to me as the first day back after vacation or the first day back after the weekend. The job hasn't changed. I haven't changed. There is no reason to expect my emotional condition to change.
I generally feel pretty energized when I come back from time off. But that's because I make sure not to think too much about work while I'm off, so on my return my perspective feels a little different. And even if I do a lot of work, cooking or decorating or whatever during the time off, it's very different than what I do while working.
