Let me break it down for you even further since it is clear you have some comprehension issues.
Everyone getting laid off at PwC:
- Official reason is "performance based" regardless of past performance, because firm does not want to publicly admit they fucked up by not hitting sales metrics
- Many people let go were done so before CRTs even happened
- Firm knows what they are doing is legally questionable, so everyone is getting the standard 2-6 weeks severance in the contract
Cannot believe that you're in denial of the above facts - are you really going to try to tell your peers getting let go that you don't believe they got severance? Lol laughable..
PwC 2, the firm cannot just decide one day that you are a bad performer after never having issues in the past. The reason why despite the "performance issues" they are handing out severance and not fighting unemployment claims is because they know they're at risk for being sued. With that said I know a couple people who have threatened to sue/actually gotten a lawyer and were very successful in getting more severance. Hope more people do so
2 weeks for every year you are with the form and your PTO hours.
Both of you are wrong. Minimum two weeks for all employees, and it's 1 additional week for every year you are with the firm up to 6 weeks total. The reason for all the layoffs at PwC this cycle are documented as "performance reasons" (although not true, as many examples of high performers have been pointed out). The only way you wouldn't get severance is if you broke firm policy
PwC do you have reading comprehension issues? Just because the firm tries to tell you you were let go for performance reasons doesn't mean it's true if there's never been a history of issues. As someone posted in another thread, it's all about optics and leadership trying to pretend everything is okay.
Yeah, but the reason they have on paper when you get "laid off" (read fired) is the legal reason you were let go. Optics or not, when it says for performance reasons you are not entitled to anything.
We are at will employees. They can fire you for good reason, bad reason or no reason. The people who are being let go were rated Tier 4 or 5 in CRTs. That constitutes "poor performance" and is legally defensible.
Haha you say that until it's you on the chopping block. My advice, the sooner you stop drinking the Kool Aid, the better.
I fucking hate what's going on at the firm right now. But I also understand that when you are laying off people that you can't afford to pay you're going to do your damnedest to stop the bleeding. Do you think these guys give one shit about you after they let you go? They aren't going to give you severance just because they're nice guys. They don't even have the balls to call what they are doing a RIF. They are calling it "performance related" because it gives them legal protection on not having to do payouts.
They are legally obligated to pay out even for underperformance; if you are fired FOR CAUSE, i.e. you violated expense policy, you get nothing. PwC 3 is correct.
This is like talking to a brick wall except 20 times worse. I'm out of here, feel free to keep your incoherent rants coming
Technically, as long as it's not voluntary separation (i.e., resign) you will get severance. Severance is based on tenure so some people might barely get anything which could possibly explain people feeling not getting severance.
Depends on your staff level, employment contract, and the reason for the "layoff". If for "performance" reasons, probably not.
If you get let go because of performance reasons, the firm doesn't owe you shit.
That's not true, I know people who were rated higher and/or had perfect utilizations. Also, CRTs just came out a couple weeks ago, people have been getting laid off for months
The people who were Tier 5 got let go almost immediately. But, hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.
Are you on drugs? People ARE getting payouts wtf are you even rambling about
Okay. Like I said. What ever the fuck helps you sleep at night. *delusional millennials*
I'm telling you that not everyone getting let go is getting severance you arrogant fuck. You don't know what you're talking about. Talk about drinking the cool aid. Sounds like you've swallowed a few cups yourself.
POOR PERFORMANCE IS FOR CAUSE. You are so delusional!
