Do you have a best friend at work?

Early in my career I used to, but that stuff can go south fast. Work is work, there are people you walk out with to finish pleasant conversation. But I wouldn't invite them into my personal life in any capacity, that can damage the work relationship.

Not currently. In my current position I'd say I have someone I'm most friendly with, but we're not really friends. I tend to get along great with my coworkers, but I haven't really developed any real friendships in the organization. That's partly because a lot of the time I've been working remotely, plus everyone just seems busy doing their work and with their own lives. Which is fine, it's in some ways the best way to have things.

smart

Yes I do. We became friends as soon as I started working here and I wouldn't be able to survive work without her. Not to mention she literally trained me so she taught me everything I know.

I miss my work bff 😭

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

I love my SO. We’ve been together for nearly a decade and are talking marriage. I know being with him though will require living far from my family. I love my family and dread the thought of being far from them. My SO has been transparent about wanting to return to his home country. I don’t want to lose him but I also dread being far from my family. What’s the right call here?
