I played white noise when they were born. I personally need some kind of noise to fall asleep, fan or the heater.
We use white noise throughout night to help us all sleep better.
We did not use any music or sound machine
We use this. Provides light and calming music. Shuts off on its own after like 30 minutes. We’ve used it since sour child was a baby and we’re still using it at 6 years old.

We have been using the Hatch for several years now and can program it to come on at a certain time with specific colored and specific sounds. We’ve also attempted to use it to let the kid know when they can get up in the morning (I.e., if the Hatch is green, it’s okay to go get mommy/daddy to play/breakfast/school readiness routine). We have a kid that likes to wake up around 5:30 but set the green light on the hatch at around 6:15. after some effort, it works most of the time. If we’re awake and walking around before the light turns green in his room, we can hear him playing.
3.5 range. And it’s been on and off with him. I think just his natural stubbornness
I’m interested in the music comments, we’ve had no luck there. We use white noise machines for both our toddlers.
Our kid has always had white noise for sleep but he’s recently been only wanting Moon Moon Moon from The Laurie Berkner Band

Bedtime routine involves no music. It’s better long term not to develop dependence on outside noises to fall asleep.
We've done classical music at bedtime for both kids 10 and 6.since they were born. We've never had sleep issues with either of them.
