It’s not strange. If you live by yourself in a city where you don’t have much of a circle, a roommate can help. You don’t have to be besties, but it helps that you have a soul to chat with or reach out to if you need anything (assuming your terms are generally cordial or pleasant). It’s really a preference thing. Each to their own and it’s really okay either way. As far as dating is concerned- I get that it can get awkward but it doesn’t have to be bad. It really depends on the people involved to be honest. I don’t live alone (22, recent grad). My roommate is seeing someone and they do visit occasionally and it’s alright. I have even hung out with them both (they invited ofc not imposing).
If it makes you feel better I still live with my parents lol
I just got my own place at 28 last year. It started feeling weird telling people I had a roommate at that age. I used to think I’d miss having someone to come home to but I actually realllyyy enjoy my peace and having everything be exactly as I want it to be
No way people stop talking to you because you have a roommate, tf?
