Does anyone have a good chair they recommend for WFH? I bought one off Amazon a while back for like $80 that looks nice but it’s doing a number on my back 😭 Willing to spend around $300-400 if necessary.

Herman Miller Caper stacking chair is solid in the $3-400 range, but you could probably find a used Aeron or Sayl for that.

I used a crappy Ikea dining chair for like three months before accepting this wasn’t ending anytime soon, then got the Caper since it was both reasonable and available right away. The back pain was no joke.

HM chairs are the real deal. I have my eyes on an Eames Executive chair, but that’s at least a couple years off.

I have a refurbished Herman Miller and my partner has a refurbished SteelCase both do the job!

La-Z-Boy Managers Chair from Costco. $229 and worth every penny.

Herman Miler Mira 2.

I ordered a gaming chair from Sams and it has been great. It was only$150. If you think about it they are designed for gamers to sit in for hours on end. I’m not going to say it’s the most stylish chair but if you order the black on black it looks like a regular office chair.

Lazy boy

I'm on my second Serta Executive Chair. The first was from Amazon and the second was from Office Depot. They've been great!

I know you asked about a chair, but would recommend you consider your desk and monitor set up as well. Is your entire set up ergonomic or are you working from a dining room table and a laptop screen? I have worked remotely for nearly 20 years. Raise your monitor to eye level and get an adjustable desk. Save your back, your eyes and your shoulders and neck!

I have been seeing all of these "studies" saying that many people prefer working in the office versus working from home... I'm doubting these results and want to conduct my own little poll.
Do you prefer:
A) Working from Home
B) Working from the Office

Hello everyone I have 29 years as a dental professional in Texas. I started as a dental assistant back in 1993. COVID opened up remote work for me, I manage eclaims, claims corrections and billing for two offices. $20 per hour, no bonuses or incentives, I know I am not getting paid enough! Any input would be appreciated.

Hello my fellow shoal of fish. I am seeking recommendations for a lounge chair in my office. I currently have the adjustable stand desk and a relatively comfortable office chair (not when reclining) but the other half of my office is empty. Im putting in a 55” tv and need a recliner, lounge chair, or something of the sorts to put in front of the tv. Something where i can put my feet up. Conference calls are such a drag when i have to sit at my desk.

Employer is trying to force me (disabled using a walker and immunocompromised) to return to work at the office after WFH efficiently (covering 2 roles!) For 2 years. I actually can't even do my job from the office. Office isn't ADA compliant and my walker doesn't fit. Some employees aren't vaxxed and mask mandates are being removed. Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.

I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?
