I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. My cash flow analysis has a payback period of 3 years for my down payment and a 13 year payback period for the whole investment. I think financially it makes sense. My question is, is it realistic for a 25 year old young professional to handle dealing with all the extra curricular’s that come with owning a rental property ?

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! In process of buying a house, both my surveyor and specialist damp contractor found damp under kitchen tiles (In the grout) & in skirting boards and up one wall. Sellers had work done initially in 2014 on the wall only(with garuntee) & their company has visited and assured there is no damp… what is next best course of action, get another damp specialist to examine independently of other reports? I don’t trust them….. (U.K. Victorian terrace, damp is in the kitchen extension built circa. 15 y/o)

I am selling house and remodeling both master bath and kids bath. Got quote for 29k for both and I buy floors and cabinets.question is I have a very big whirlpool tub and tiles around it discolored. It’s a hassle to lift it up change the tiles and fixtures and put it back. It’s old but works great. Remodeling ppl recommend get rid of it, give space to buyers if they want to buy standalone tub. I thought it adds value to have whirlpool tub. But can’t even change fixture. Should I get rid of it?

We are renovating a condo and the previous owner had two Crane toilets (not sure how old, but functioning although seals are old according to our contractor). Back outlet flour mount ones are the only options for the building, and one toilet can cost $300-$500.

We are redoing all the bathroom tiles and walls and debating what we should do with the two toilets. Would resealing the toilets extend the use life? Or should we just replace the toilets? Any other recommendations? TIA!!
