Does anyone out there know for sure, if major NYC-based pharma ad agencies (like some of the IPG ones that are now "Omnicom"), plan to still allow fully-remote employees (that are considered more "senior/valuable") to be exempt from RTO policies, while enforcing strict 3 times per week minimum "return to in-office" policies to the NY-NJ-CT-PA locals? Because team mates have mixed feelings, for instance at Biolumina vs Area 23...

They will most likely have to come in 3x per week unless management allows for certain people to not on a case by case basis.

Omnicom’s policy is 3 days a week. I worked with client teams on creating and updating team structures. Omnicom does not want remote workers.

I work at a legacy IPG agency and our remote employees all have remote agreements in their contracts. So yes, they are exempt. Only reason they’d force them back is if they actually wanted them to leave.

like

And what if the "IPG legacy" remote contract is only 12-18 months old, and the senior/seasoned "digital guru" was formerly at an Omnicom shop but was let go, and the HR departments of IPG and Omnicom have not yet shared files, and this fully remote employee squeezed in and will strike again? Where is the safety net?

For us it very much depends on the individual team.

They’ll make exceptions on case-by-case basis’.

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

Just accepted an offer with a psych startup. Not exactly the offer I was hoping for as I’m taking a slight pay cut ($73/hr) and it’s a 1099 position. I keep getting stuck on the 1099 piece because I’ll be working 40 hrs/wk, but have been told I’m not eligible to be a W2 employee. Needless to say, no benefits whatsoever. They don’t even provide a computer or any other remote equipment for the completely remote position. Am I making a mistake? Also, can anyone chime in about being a 1099 employee?

During interview I was speaking to the hiring manager. Felt interview was going well. He seemed impressed by my answers, excited by my skills, and even gave me a tour of the office. At the end, he asked about my home life. When I spoke of my 3 young kiddos, the manager got a little taken back and replied Oh you have children? I said yes ages 3, 5, and 7. He then proceeded to ask me about daycare arrangements and if I can be reliable. Red flag as his demeanor changed and made me feel unworthy.
