How do i see my utilization?
Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Comp—yes. WLB—not really, just different depending on the group
WLB? No. Comp yes but that is more caused by many having advanced degrees (jd/llm) and top notch experience ( IRS//law firm experience)
I’d think WLB is actually a lot worse.
It’s not. Deal work can be demanding and unpredictable, but otherwise not really.
OP—Are you talking about EY’s switch with moving tax to a “national” model, or an actual National Tax Dept?
Depends on the specific group, but my WLB is substantially better than when I was in compliance or M&A tax. There’s tough days and periods, but overall better for sure.
