I’m not sure how this will impact this bowl, but it is worth pointing out the need to assess whether there should be concern for those in this bowl. While we all understand ADHD is something attorneys are completely capable of managing with legal positions, not everyone in the field agrees with that. https://joinfishbowl.com/post_va66ztgmkw

This LI post reeks of performative toughness, which is every bit as bad as the attention-seeking survivor's tears that he mocks.
You never know how precariously someone else's life may be balanced. Are they in the country on a working visa? Do they (or their dependents) have health conditions with exorbitant medical costs to cover?
He strikes me as one of those people from a sheltered background who likes to pose as canny and streetwise, despite privilege and limited life experience. Anyone who had actually endured serious setbacks in life would be more sympathetic, or at least more tactful.
Well this is certainly a change from empathy as a superpower
Layoffs can be a pretty damn big deal for someone depending on their financial background and circumstances and we shouldn’t accept layoffs as a normal and regular part of society
Director 1, layoffs have been regular but as a sign of a company failing or doing poorly. Layoffs as a designed repeating function that make stock prices rise are newer.
Data scientist. In your example, I’m one of a large number of people employing the cleaner, and she loses a bit of her business not her whole livelihood at once. It’s also because I genuinely can’t afford. There are companies making profits and paying c-suite multitudes more than c-suite has been paid compared to rank and file workers and still doing layoffs
He’s not wrong though.
Survival guilt is just a way for attention seekers to say "I'm better than you"
What a d—ck

What part of this is inaccurate? He's rude about it, but I don't see where he's wrong.

Even he acknowledges that layoffs should be nicer. Again, he's a jerk but he's not wrong. Not everyone is a nice person with empathy.
Typical doomer who contends that life must suck and pushes that on everyone.

Empathy is officially dead.
