If you are not married or without your own family, would you move back with your parents if you have been laid off? Or would you dip into savings / unemployment to keep the lights on?
Thinking about advertising publicly on LinkedIn that I’m looking for a new job. What are the chances I would be fired?
Curious question fam - I'm 23 and earn ~70k. At what age will I get to six figures, if I'm not fired and move up at an average pace in consulting?
Does staying at a job too long make you less marketable? A CFO who worked at a company for over a decade and was fired because of cut backs was hired for temp work. An accounting manager of 6 years was hired for tech support. How does this happen?
Don't want to do any work. Don't want to quit. Don't want to get fired. How do I square this circle? 🤔🤔🤔
PPD on my project acknowledging the PDM people on this TSA project are staff augmentation ppl who will be laid off when project is over. Said having them allows us to (contd)
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
If you got fired, would you care?
Hello CGI folks ..I have got selected in Capgemini...All I am getting to hear is that chances of being laid off are quite high in CGI..So, I am confuséd whether I should join or stay back in my current company...please advise

Hello new to bowl. Laid off from the D but excited as well to move on to better things. Hope to land in PM land!
How do you tell management above you that you hate all of them with the fire of a thousand suns without getting fired?
is it better to quit before getting fired ? is getting fired that big of a deal - need some perspective from more experienced colleagues thanks
hi 🐠family, I need your help. I was just laid off and I've never written a cover letter before. all the ones I can find online are very generic and I don't think will help me stand out. continued..
What job title would you use for someone who is responsible for assessing current skills gaps in the enterprise, leveraging talent marketplace and AI to identify the current skills of the workforce, and support strategic initiatives surrounding talent planning/forecasting? Something that wouldn’t include Talent Management or Workforce Planning in the title.
Great website to see salary data for many companies. They’re required to provide the salary data of H1B1 to DOL which is then published. h1bdata.info
I’m currently at a mid tier firm as an experienced senior, just under five years in PA. Joined as a lateral hire about a year ago and compensated above market. I want to focus on tech industry but scheduled on all type of industries from nonprofit, healthcare, manufacturing, food and beverage and etc. it’s very hard to get out of the engagements I’m currently on and switched to tech exclusively. Should I consider moving to Big4 for better opportunities?
I have an interview with GEP Consulting tomorrow. Anyone worked/works there or has interviewed there? Looking for some pointers.
Started reading The Simple Path to Wealth and am really enjoying it and am fully onboard BUT I have a few questions. I’m currently married with no debt and have max match 401K, a little in Roth IRA and about 50K in savings account. I plan on investing in real estate and buying a personal home in the next 5 years so am curious how much should i keep in my savings account and how much should I put in VTSAX. Also, since I don’t want to put alot of my savings in a IRA or Roth CONT.
When placed on a team where work is unevenly done/you have to start picking up the slack, how do you bring that up (nicely) in the team without going to the manager?
Boarded 30 late due to FAs mixing up time zone...taxi out, sit for hour , pilot announces return to gate for comp issues and mtce crew is waiting for us. 30 mins at gate - still waiting on mtce. 😡
Anyone work at UHY? What's the culture like? How are the hours in busy season /non busy season? Do you work from home at all? I know they are back in the office. What's the dress code (I'm used to jeans and a golf shirt lmao)? Do the managers welcome new methods of preparing returns? Are they afraid of tech / make you prove out your formulas?
When you track your travel expenses, do you include booked (and paid) travel for NEXT year as a current year expense or a next-year expense? I have separate excel workbooks for 2021 and 2022 but am curious what the norm is!
Anyone know anything about culture / hours / associate lifestyle at Orrick’s NY office? Specifically looking for information about the IP transactions group, but also information on the overall firm culture.
So my roommate has been staying elsewhere since we began quarantining and has been returning intermittently. Roommate has been paying half the electricity bill, which I have felt weird even charging for, but my friends have insisted that it is still both our responsibilities. Given WFH is permanent as of now, the electricity has been a bit higher with me home for the 10 hours I’d normally be gone. And with summer approaching, AC is going to double that cost. Do I still keep charging half? AITA?
Had a conversation with a fin-tech stealth startup with seed funding. Role is Chief of Staff to COO, and would focus on refining product market fit for pathway to the A round, with a ton of potential for growth. I’m intrigued, and I wouldn’t have to take a big pay cut on salary, but what else am I missing or should be thinking about?
Any intel on Boston Consulting Group exec assistant total compensation? Glassdoor says it maxes out at 84k.
How likely are you to get a job you interview for? At B4 they basically gave us offers if we had a pulse, what are the odds for industry jobs?
For those who have interviewed in the virtual environment - do you wear full suits? Or more casual?
Is it weird/rude to do work during a 2 hour hair appointment (instead of taking the PTO)?
FAANG good MBB bad, am I doing it right
Is it considered unreasonable or rude to ask recruiters to provide JD and compensation range before the first phone conversation.? I feel that would save all involved precious time.
It's been 2.5 years since ive been here. No promotions here, no work to show, and I'm tired of this culture. I feel like it's too late to leave. I've applied & no one has even replied. Help.
