I wouldn’t think twice about the full remote option if this was presented to me
Such clarity 🙌🏼
Go fully remote and move to Georgia
🙂 ATL is nice/green/warm/diverse.. the COL has gone up in recent years.. I lived there for a bit but not sure if I want to go back.. What do you love about Georgia?
Who is this employer and how do I apply
I don’t do healthcare so not the right op for me but happy to chat w you about a referral to LEK’
The gas and car bill alone can make up that. Plus, you don't have to be too close the the office. You could honestly make more money driving Uber during your commute time than that pay change.
Push back on these jerks pulling the best wlb move in the history of work so that they can keep an eye on you and validate their managerial salaries
💯 Saving on --> Travel cost + travel time + work clothes + saving on rent + meaningless office formalities.
Can't do a side hustle due to immigration but can move to a state with low / no income tax.
Where do you live, where do you want to live, and how much do you enjoy remote work vs in person work?
Where do I live: SF Bay Area
Where do I want to live: Suburbs of SF Bay Area / LA / Seattle
Work preference: Remote over in-person - I would even like to go in occasionally but not more than 2 times a week
Full remote to LCOL. Work on side hustle, have time for family
Thanks for the advice 😌 Yeah would be good to have family time + me time. Have been trying to search for LCOL areas but not sure how to find a place where I can 'fit in'..
Would absolutely take remote option codified in stone ok exchange for 5%
Yeah the option is official company policy now legit. Agree that the remote option is something I've been hoping for, but the ~15% pay bump is pretty tempting. For the people getting ~5% in our other offices, this (full remote) is a no brainer.
Rising Star
95k in VHCOL is unsustainable.
Get a new employer.
Agree 😢 Not sure the in office pay bump can help me transition from the $3k 1b1ba rentals to the 1mil condos anytime soon
Chief
This a good method of implementing return to office
I’m an advocate for wfh…evangelical even…but if they gave me that pay raise I may start coming back in lol
Then again I may also take a 5% cut to retain my awesome wfh situation so who knows
That's the trick - I'm all for 100% remote but the pay bump for in-office is tough to let go. Adding to that the fact that maybe the next pay raise will be calculated om the higher in-office base pay. Also the pay cut can be challenging since all the places I think I'd like to move to are expensive suburbs of big cities 😅
