Hi. I'm a final year btech student, and I recently got an offer from PwC India for the post of Sr. Analyst, with the package of 4.5lpa fixed + some yearly performance bonus. How should I expect me to be my career graph in pwc? Promotions, work culture, work life balance, basically any kind of insight will be appreciated.
THANKS A TON, IN ADVANCE.

As a tax professional, most defined “exits” are going to be tax related. But you’re still a junior professional and can do whatever you want as long as you’re good at networking, willing to put in a lot of hours on the search and are ok taking a more entry level role. My wife left PWC salt as an A3 and now is a ladies sportswear buyer for a major retailer. Wasn’t an easy transition and she took a big initial pay cut but she loves the work and her pay / equity package has quickly caught back up to where she would have been in PA.
As a first year senior, you can do whatever you want from my experience. It’s only when you get to manager that you’re considered “too deep” into tax which makes things harder, but still possible. I’ve explored opportunities into equity research, investment banking, and other similar finance roles. Granted, you have to make an effort to network if you’re set on pivoting into finance/consulting

Tax.
Kpmg 1 how did you go about going after those roles?
A lot of networking and leveraging existing relationships. The three primary sources were friends, their friends, and their colleagues. I was lucky that they were already in the finance field so I had a leg up compared to most people.
The goal is to expand your circle of connections. I asked my direct friends first and tagged along with them to meet their friends. Once I met them, I built a relationship with these new friends and expressed my interest in exploring other fields. After that, they were willing to introduce me to their colleagues in their office and from there it’s pretty easy getting an interview for whatever opening there is for that office assuming you don’t weird them out. The business world is all about relationships. People would much rather hire someone they know rather than a random - just like in accounting.
As I said earlier, I was lucky in that I had friends in finance who could introduce me to their friends and vice versa. If you don’t have preexisting connections, then you could cold call/msg over LinkedIn for coffee, attend networking events, alumni events, etc. The goal is just to expand your circle of connections
