Sick?
As opposed to what? I’d guess most people are putting in 8 holiday and 32 vacation.
Anyone who books 40 hours of vacation this week is a stunad.
You can speak with your scheduler or team. If you didn’t request vacation, communicated sufficiently that you were available for work and no one gave you work, I don’t think you need to book vacation. But it was my understanding that unassigned people were given WBLs or something like internal initiatives (tracking down EY alumni on LinkedIn) to stay busy.

EY2 is maybe just referencing that 8 hours should be holiday with a max of 32 to vacation
I did 8 holiday and 32 vacation.
You’re essentially throwing away vacation hours if you take vacation for this week.
If you are unassigned you are suppose to be in the office and send an email to scheduling to let them know you are there. If you did that every day besides Monday (holiday) then record unassigned time. If not, then would be vacation
I don’t think the holidays are optional. They can “float” if you are required to work, but it’s a holiday, charge holidays. And yes, charge vacation the rest of the week. You didn’t go to the office. One final thing, do you really think you won’t stick out like a sore thumb for charging unassigned or sick all Christmas week?
