I’m in comms strategy and I also write creative briefs. The briefs obviously contain slightly different information but it doesn’t have to be all frameworks and bulleted deliverables lists. My briefs tend to be written like a brand strat brief (more visuals/story telling) but are just more pointed on specifically what I’m asking creatives to make.
In my (hopefully somewhat unbiased) opinion, comms strategy has so much more growth opp on the agency side and has slightly more legs should you want to leave agency world. You understand all the different elements needed to actually execute the idea in tangible ways, understand how much things cost, what drives performance, etc, that is much more valuable client side for example.
Comms is so fucking boring and intellectually just not that challenging. It’s great to know how to do but just not fun at all.
