On Big Island: Volcano National Park, snorkel at 2 Step, stargaze on Mauna Kea (we did it with Hawaii Forest & Trail)
I’m doing the exact same length! Are you me?
We’re going in mid December so unfortunately not the same dates. Had it been the same, I would’ve definitely asked you to meet up because the coincidence would’ve been great
Lmao just booked a Hawaii trip today. Following this too
Lineage restaurant in Wailea is perfect start to finish, do NOT skip it!!
Wow. I will try Lineage though when we go
When? We are also going but in May. Booked a Villa at Westin in Maui
Dates 25-29th Nov (Kona) and 29 Nov - 3rd Dec (Maui)
Outrigger Pizza co. was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, didn’t disappoint
Ka’ana Kitchen was fabulous for dinner, it’s at Andaz so just a walk down the beach (solid wine selection IIRC)
Morimoto @ Andaz (I said it in a second-level comment so just putting it here for visibility)
Eat some spam musubi and thrive 😋😍
DUO - Steak & Seafood at Four Seasons was outstanding as well
Trilogy - Discover Lanai cruise was breathtakingly gorgeous and just the right balance between cruising and relaxing - crew was super friendly and knowledgeable and the yacht was renovated
Maui: Monkeypod by the Wailea resort is wonderful for drinks, great bartenders.
Take a day trip on the Alii Nui catamaran for snorkeling — we enjoyed snorkeling the crater and then getting to swim with sea turtles (!!!). Nice higher end experience, much better than the crowded boats with a million people and jungle juice in plastic cups.
Have a meal at Mama’s Fish House — you need reservations and it’s simply wonderful.
Do the Road to Hana drive. Stop for banana bread at Aunty Sandy’s en route. It’s stupid good.
Big Island: the car rental agency here was super friendly and down to earth… they were happy to dole out upgrades and had a much better selection of fun cars. We grabbed a convertible and it made all our scenic drives around the island much more enjoyable (and I don’t really even love convertibles).
snorkel the captain cook monument area. We used the Hula Kai and they were decent.
We ziplined at Kohala Zipline and it was great, awesome 1/4 mile high speed tandem zip at the end.
Visit the black sand beaches for sure!
Eat a ton of macadamia nuts 🤩 And the pineapples are UNREAL. Find a Maui Gold pineapple… you won’t even want to eat a pineapple stateside after this. I shoved so many in our luggage traveling back 😂
EYP — it’s Mauna Kea Beach on the Big Island. Stayed at the autograph collection Marriott on the beach here and it was lovely.

Road to Hanna
Chief
It was 20 years ago, but we took a horseback ride around Maui for four hours. It was just the two of us plus the guide. Got to see a bunch of different areas and it was a lot of fun.
I stayed at the same resort. Can recommend booking a private helicopter tour, was so worth it. Also recommend road to Hana.
Contrary to some on here, wouldn’t recommend road to Hana, at least not driving by yourself. Didn’t find it worth the time commitment. Also, I enjoy driving a fair amount but was tense going there and back, esp as it got dark. We drove too far (whoops) and the roads get even worse the further you go - actually feared for our lives at that point
Snorkel/dive with manta rays on big island!
