Flight leaving Client A for Client B. Do I charge the flight cost to Client A or B? (Full itinerary: flight from NYC to Client A, A to Client B, B to NYC)

I started a small LLC on the side. My company is getting it's first client this month.

Wondering if any 🐟 have recommended resources on setting up initial consulting business thru an LLC.

Books, websites, tax strategies etc.

My LLC is already incorporated, but looking for guidance with the next steps (creating contracts, invoices, etc)

I’m in interviews with a few companies. It was initially to see what was out there to negotiate my pay. Now, I’m seriously considering leaving my current company because of what one of the prospect companies represent: everything I want in a company/role. (Plus they reached out to me) AND they will pay me almost double what I’m currently making annually, put me in a position to advance (so many options!!!!!) and allow me to move/travel when I get ready to.

What should I do? Guidance please!!!

How do you folks describe your deals in resume/ interviews/ LinkedIn while stopping short of naming client/target? If you describe the acquirer and target, it’s pretty easily traced to the exact deal.

Why do project managers get off on fire drills? Like literally laugh about it. I find it pretty f’d up since the creatives are the ones actually making the work and having to race to get it done. Also, in the case, the “fire drill” was their fault.

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

Is it common at McKinsey for partners to be heavily involved in projects? I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. The EM takes point on the deck but less on client relationships. I used to work at Big 4 and honestly our partners were rarely involved.

I lateraled from a small firm to regional big law last year. I was told that my offer was commensurate with class year (5th year). The firm recently increased first year salary, with a 5% increase for all other attorneys. My original salary was equal to the new first year salary. The difference between my new salary and a first year is now $10k. I think it is fairly obvious that the hiring partner was not truthful with me. How would you address this? I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc.

An agency I’ve gotten a lot of work from reached out about a five-week gig. After I accepted, it was downgraded to two weeks.

Since, the KO meeting has been pushed back twice, a week total, so the project is starting a week after the initial email agreement. They’re not paying for the time I’ve been waiting.
