Never to early. It’s a professional certification not a technical one, so rust is less likely. But if you’re not “ready” I wouldn’t waste the money, and if you don’t have experience for accreditation lined up or completed, I wouldn’t.
Never too early. I'd take it without the experience IF you are trying to pivot into cyber and having trouble.
Does IT audit and SOC 2 count towards relevant work experience for CISSP?
Yeah everything counts towards the cissp.
If you were a RA in college that is Physical Security lol
While is best to meet the requirements and get certified right away when you are elegible; it’s also OK to pass the exam and be an associate. The answer is: whenever you feel comfortable with the knowledge… go for it :)
never too early. I think it is easier to get the certification/pass the exam when you are still new to the practice. 1) You have more time to study 2) Lots of concept to memorize, may be outdated to the technology that you are using
All these responses are why CISSP is no longer worth anything. Experience requirements (which have already been watered down over the years) are/were there for a reason.

Amen
Thank you all!! Another question, is the security+ a good certification to get before CISSP? If you’re new to the industry and don’t know much but want to start studying towards something?
Thank you all so much!
